Fresh fava beans. | 2 lbs | |
Olive oil | 2 tbsp | |
Unsalted butter | 1 tbsp | |
Basmati rice | 1 cup | |
Salt | 1 tsp | |
Black pepper | 1/2 tsp | |

Boiling water | 2 cups | |

Rice with green Fava beans is a delicious dish with a side of yogurt or green salad.
Directions
- Heat oil and butter in a pot over medium heat, add chopped onions and cook until softened.
- Add the Fava beans and mix with onions. Lower the heat and cover the pot, cook for 10 minutes or until the beans becomes tender.
- In the same pot add rice , salt , spices and 2 cups of boiling water. Let the rice cook on a low heat unit it absorbs all the water.
- Serve it with yogurt or green salad.
