Pasta Pomodoro is simple,tasty,and total comfort food. Pomodoro in Italian means tomato,the sauce is usually very simple, consisting of little more than tomatoes, olive oil, and a handful of other ingredients to add flavor.
Directions
- Heat olive oil and butter in a pan over medium high heat. add in onion and garlic, saute 5-7 minutes until soft. add in tomatoes and saute 1 more minute.
- Pour tomato paste then pour the hot water over it. Season with salt and pepper, bring to a boil then simmer for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook pasta in boiling water according to package instructions,
- Season the sauce with oregano and sweet basil then add the pasta and toss to coat.
- Serve hot topped with fresh basil leaves and a drizzle of olive oil.
