For the semolina pudding

Melted butter/ghee 1 cup
Fine semolina 1 cup
Water 3 cups
Sugar 1 cup
Rose water 1 tablespoon
Cinnamon 1 tablespoon

For the cheese

Mozzarella cheese 300 g
Water 2 cups
Sugar 1 cup
Fine semolina 1 cup
Rose water 1 tsp

Our Arabic Sweets for today is Mamounia,a wonderful Syrian dessert.

Mamounia is a smooth and velvety semolina pudding that is usually topped with cheese and nuts .

Directions

In a pot melt butter/ghee.

Add semolina and stir until the semolina is very lightly golden.

Add water and sugar carefully to the toasted semolina, stirring continuously until the mix thickness.

Add rose water and Turn off the heat then  pour the mixture into a cake mold or small bowls.

While waiting to the semolina to cool. Let’s make the cheese topping.

In another pot. Add water and sugar and bring it to boil until the sugar dissolves.

Add semolina and stir until the mix thickness. Add cheese, rose water  and keep stirring until the  ingredients come together.

Pour it over the semolina pudding

garnish with nuts.
