Lentil soup with a side of fluffy white rice! My husband was missing Bengali food so I decided to give it a go and make some daal, which is basically lentils. It only took about 30min to make and was a success!
Steps:
Steps:
1. Soak the lentils in water while you prepare the broth.
2. In a pot, sauté onions in cooking oil. Add cumin and bay leaves and mix around for a bit. Add in tomatoes and rest of spices and saute for another 2min. Add in washed lentils and fry for about 3min. Pour in hot water (about 3-4 cups) and let cook for 20min.
3. Serve with some rice or with bread!
