For the vanilla pudding

Whole milk 3 cups
Heavy whipping cream 1 cup
Sugar 5 tablespoon
Corn starch 4 tablespoon
Rose essence 2 teaspoon

For the orange pudding

Fresh orange juice 2 cups
Corn starch 2 tablespoon
Sugar 2 tablespoon
Rose essence 1 teaspoon

For the garnish

Ground pistachios 1/2 cup

Muhalabia is a Middle Eastern milk pudding which can be made in no time and can be served and topped with your favorite topping.

Directions

vanilla pudding:

  • In a saucepan add milk, heavy cream, sugar, and cornstarch mix well.
  • Stir vigorously until the mixture thickens and small bubbles appear. Cook for further 5 minutes and add rose essence.
  • Pour into individual serving bowls                                Orange pudding:
  • In another saucepan add fresh orange juice,sugar,cornstarch and mix well. Stir vigorously until the mixture thickens, add rose essence.
  • Pour it over the vanilla pudding and garnish with your favorite topping.
