Kibbeh b sanyeh is one of the most popular dishes in Lebanon. I can rarely find someone who doesn’t love kibbeh. Every time I want to invite friends over lunch, they request kibbeh b sanyeh. What a delicious dish !
Directions
First you start by preparing the dough.
•In a large bowl. Soak the bulgur in water to become soft (about 10-15 minutes), then drain and add the minced beef with salt and kibbeh spices. Knead it with your hand until it becomes consistent like a dough. Set aside
Meanwhile let’s prepare the stuffing.
• In a large skillet bring olive oil, add the onions and cook until tender and fragrant. Add the ground beef and cook until brown then add the pine nuts, salt, seven spices, cinnamon and sumac and cook until all mixed together.
•Divide dough in half. Grease an oven tray with olive oil , get one part of the dough and start spreading evenly in the tray.( about 8mm thickness)
•Bring the stuffing and spread it on the first layer.
•Get the second part of the dough to cover the stuffing. Always wet your hands with water to even out the outer dough.
•Use a knife to divide it in 4 equal, design each part differently.
•preheat your oven to 375f. Drizzle 1/2 cup olive oil all over the kibbeh and put it in the oven for 30 minutes, until it’s golden brown.
•serve it with fattoush salad or yogurt salad
