Loubia b zet ( Lebanese vegetarian green beans)

Ingredients

Green beans 3 lbs
Onions, finely chopped 3
Garlic, minced 7
Diced tomatoes 6
Salt 2 teaspoon
Virgin olive oil 1/2 cup

Traditionally, loubia b zet . A homemade dish and a family favorite not only in my house, but in all the kitchens all over Lebanon. You might even find it on the menu of some Lebanese restaurant.

Directions

  1. Wash the green beans and piece them into 3 pieces, making sure to take off the very end ( stem).
  2. In a pot , add olive oil , chopped onions, and garlic sauté until translucent.
  3. Mass in the green beans and stir until they get slightly soft (about 10-15 minutes ) over medium heat.
  4. Add in the diced tomatoes ,salt and stir. Cover then allow to simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes ( stir occasionally until all the ingredients are softened and ready to eat ).
