| Chicken liver , clean | 1 pound | |
| Onions, cut slices | 1 large | |
| Garlic cloves, minced | 5 | |
| Sumac | 1 teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1 teaspoon | |
| Black pepper | 1/2 teaspoon | |
| Quality pomegranate molasses | 1/2 cup | |
| Olive oil | 1/2 cup |
For cooking chicken liver you need
| Warm water | 1 litter | |
| vinegar | 1 teaspoon | |
| Cinnamon stick | 2 sticks | |
| Bay leaves | 2 leaves |
Chicken liver has a strong flavor that may take a little getting used to. But , youβll never know until you try. If youβre feeling adventurous and earthy flavors, give liver a try.
Directions
- With paper towel, pat the chicken livers to remove excess moisture.
- Cook chicken liver in warm water with spices mentioned and vinegar over medium heat. Let it boil for 1 minute then turn heat off, drain from water and transfer to a separate plate, and keep aside.
- Heat a large skillet over high heat. Add olive oil, onions, garlic and stir until fragrant.
- Add chicken livers , sumac ,salt and pepper. Stir for 2 minutes.
- Add pomegranate molasses and stir on high heat for 1 minute. Turn heat off and transfer to a serving plate.
- Garnish with parsley and serve it with pita bread.
