If there is one cookie i want to eat every single day, its my anise sesame seed cookies. These cookies are buttery and totally moreish. Serve as a snack or with a cup of tea or coffee.
Directions:
_In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg until well blended. Sieve together the flour& baking powder stir into the butter mixture until well incorporated,then add the anise and sesame. The dough will be soft, but will hand roll easily.
_ Form into a ball,cover with plastic bag and let it rest in the fridge for 30 min.
_Divide the dough into small balls, flatten it into disks or roll into logs and curl into rings. Press the cookies into the sesame seeds, turning over and onto its sides to coat completely with sesame seeds.
_Place cookies 2cm apart on a baking tray.
_Bake for 17 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven or until bottom and sides of cookies are lightly toasted. Remove from baking tray to cool on wire racks. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
