Potato Gratin

Cream 200 ml
Herbs: Rosemary, thyme, Marjoram
Salt Pinch
Potato 1 Kilo

It’s a family plate, rich and hearty. It consists of infinite very thin layers of potato cooked in aromatic cream and topped with cheese and chopped walnuts.

Directions

  1. Wash the potatoes very well.
  2. Cut them using a mandoline slicer.
  3. Press tightly the potato layers into a cake mold.
  4. Pour over them salted hot water and leave them till them are semi-cooked. Then strain them from boiling water and keep the potatoes in the mold.
  5. By this time, infuse some light cream with herbs, smashed garlic, garlic powder and some salt flakes. Infusing means to leave them on low heat for several minutes.
  6. Pour the cream over the cooked potatoes, add a layer of cheese and place them in the oven.
  7. Garnish with some chopped walnuts and some herbs.
  8. Enjoy it with your loved ones.
